Continuation of Modeling Form

In accordance with NCAA Bylaw 12.5.1.3, a student-athlete may receive compensation for use of his or her name or picture to advertise or promote the sale or use of a commercial product or service, only if all of the following conditions apply:

a) The individual’s involvement in this type of activity was initiated prior to his or her enrollment in college;

b) The individual became involved in such activities for reasons independent of athletics ability;

c) No reference is made in these activities to the individual’s name or involvement in intercollegiate athletics;

d) The individual does not endorse the commercial product; and

e) The individual’s remuneration under such circumstances is at a rate commensurate with the individual’s skills and experience as a model or performer and is not based in any way upon the individual’s athletics ability or reputation.

As a reminder, student-athletes may receive medical treatment and attend academic appointments on a required day off. These activities do not count toward daily or weekly hour limits (CARA).

Reminder: Student-athletes may not receive payment from any source for his/her complimentary admissions and may not exchange or assign them for any item of value. Also, family members and friends who have been assigned tickets may not sell or exchange them either!

With the NFL season kicking off this week, remember that all sports wagering activities are prohibited for all student-athletes and UGA Athletics Staff. This includes fantasy football, survivor pools, etc.
